Ajith’s Agarathi

We knew that talks were on for Tharun Gopi to direct Ajith in his next movie, which is to be produced by Durai [Pithamagan]. Well, now we know for sure that the deal is on! Tharun, who gained recognition with Thimiru, is currently working with Simbhu in Kaalai.

Tharun is also making his onscreen debut as villain in Simbhu’s Kettavan. But his next directorial venture with Ajith is a big step in his career indeed. The movie is titled Agarathi and has three young belles in the lead – Meera Jasmine, Nayantara and one more, whom Tharun wants to keep under wraps. It just makes us wonder what this young director has in store for Ajith and his audience…

Billa In Malaysia

Not much is kown about Ajith-Nayantara- Namitha starrer Billa 2007, except that it is the remake of the Rajnikanth-Sripriya film, Billa. The film has been kept under wraps and not even stills of the film have been released to the press.

Another reason for this secrecy is that most of the film has been shot in Malaysia. Most of the film has been completed and is in post-production. With only two songs left to be shot, the entire unit is expected to complete it in Malyasia very soon.

The film is expected to hit the screens during Diwali.

Ajith might be Akbar?

Ajith’s Billa is now almost ready and if everything goes on well as expected then the movie might make it just in time for Diwali. With this being so, projects seem to be knocking at Ajith’s doors. If sources are to be believed, then the actor’s next project could very well be for London Karunas’ Ayngaran Films.

Earlier, rumours were afloat in the Kollywood circles that Prabhu Deva would direct the movie. Well, now the focus has shifted to his elder brother Raju Sundaram. Gossip mills have it that when Raju approached Ajith with a story he seemed to have liked it and has given a go ahead signal. And the latest heart-throb, Shriya, could be Ajith’s arm candy in this film.

The movie is tentatively titled as Akbar, according to our sources and all details are expected to be announced formally in a few days. If everything falls in place, then Akbar may start rolling from December.

The wait for the Billa look!

Billa 2007 is one of the most awaited movies of this year. This film has evoked interest not only among Ajith's fans but also from superstar's fans who are waiting to see how the remake has shaped up. The film directed by Vishnuvardhan is nearing completion but surprisingly not a single still has been released till now.

Generally Shankar's films are very stringently kept under wraps and when he teamed with Rajinikanth for Sivaji, the confidentiality associated with the film was of the highest order. But despite this, there were few stills that were released officially as well as leaked out through the media, which gave a fair idea about Super Star's looks. However, no stills of Billa 2007 have found their way to the hands of media be it Ajith's Billa get up or the gypsy get up of his look alike.
The production team is contemplating of releasing few images during the film's audio release or even later than that, just before the Deepavali release of the actual film. With other movies in the race already having come up with three sets of promotional photos, Ajith fans are feverishly waiting to get the first glimpse of their favorite idol as Billa.

Ajith on successful paths of MGR

Its time for ‘Thala’ fans to lionize ultimate star Ajith Kumar for he has been felicitated with MGR Award for the Tamil Nadu State Government Film Awards. Looking back to his paths of triumph, Ajith made his entry into World of Tamil Cinema as an ordinary artist and later of out of his striving hard work, genuineness and helping tendency, he has elevated himself to a great level in Kollywood cinema.

“Try not to be a man of success, but rather to be a man of value” said Albert Einstein and of course Ajith is a man of value. Apart from giving successful films, he has proved to be a man who gives respect to values for all beings especially for debutant directors. S J Suryah in an interview had recently said that it is because of Ajith, he is there today in the industry. Encouraging with high spiritedness, he offered him the chance to direct the film Vaali.
Without support of anyone he entered into film industry, but Ajith one thing with him and that’s self-confidence. Super Star Rajnikanth had commented the same statement on Ajith and he was one who gave an idea for Director Vishnuvardhan to cast him in the leading role for the remake of Billa 2007.

Hats off to this gigantic personality for his stupendous and enthralling performance although his career. Ajithfans.com wishes him all the success for his forthcoming films and bag more awards in future.

It’s official : Billa ready to conquer Diwali

Remake of the yesteryear hit that starred Rajinikanth, Billa is one of the most anticipated movies this year. The movie will feature Ajith as the Don and Nayantara as his lady love, with Namitha and Prabhu also playing important roles. The movie is directed by Vishnuvardhan, who after a dull Kurumbu, came up with the much liked Arindhum Ariyamalum and the hit Pattiyal.

The old Billa was a remake of the Hindi Don which was played by Amitabh. A year ago Sharukh Khan remade the old Don in Hindi which went on to become a super hit. The Hindi remake directed by Farhan Akhtar had a twist which was totally different to the old movie and many expect that the new Tamil movie will also have some unexpected twists. However, director Vishnuvardhan said that he has given due respect to one of the most liked action films and hasn’t made any changes. But he has tried to make the script as stylish as possible.

The action thriller was expected to hit the screens on Diwali, but due to Ajith’s ill health the movie was stalled for quite sometime, therefore rumors were afloat that the movie will not make it on time. But the optimistic director says that the one month rest has recharged everyone and they are working extra hard to complete the movie on time. Now almost 70% of the movie has been shot and all the scenes featuring Namitha has been completed. But sources say that scenes with Nayantara are yet to be filmed. It is also said that Nayantara has played a very glamorous role. Yuvan Shankar Raja has come out with some excellent music. Vishnuvardhan and Yuvan’s last two combinations Arindhum Ariyamalum and Pattiyal are musically well received and the duo is on their way to a hat trick.

Ajith is rumoured to have played his character very stylishly and the director agreed with the superstar’s contention that only Ajith could do justice to the role. And the movie is surely going to come as a Diwali treat to all Ajith fans. All the best to the Billa team.

Ajith rocks with vibrations in Billa

With many films getting out of cans for the Diwali season, more expectations are rising for Billa 2007. Sources close to the unit say that Ajith is just rocking on the shooting sets with his unbelievable performance of stunts in white blazers. One of the photographs for the film’s promo will have Ajith Kumar jumping from a height with his hands stretched sideways. If you are still guessing about how its going to look, just have a look at Ajith’s photos in Citizen with the same posture. But we assure its like in Hollywood Style of making.

Yuvan has completed scoring music for all the songs out of which 2 songs would be a remix of ‘My name is Billa’ and ‘Vethalaya Pottendi’ from yesteryear Billa starring Rajnikanth. Sources close to the unit say that theme song for the film has come out well and remaining portion is being shot in AVM Studio and Binny Mills. With the film getting released for Diwali, the audio launching would take place during first week of October.

Meanwhile London based Ayngaran films has bought A - Z Rights of Billa 2007 which includes Audio, DVD, Distribution, FMS etc for a whopping price.

Life is not only victory-defeat – Thala philosophizes

Thala is soft spoken. Gone are the tensions and anger in his voice. Nowadays, his talk is full of philosophy on life.

You have become so calm, almost become like an Ajithananda?

“If you also want to enjoy this same peace, do not ask me too many questions,” responds Ajith with a charming condition in his answer.

“When we ourselves do not have enough time to know about ourselves, why comment on other people’s opinions? That’s why I prefer to be silent. After that, do you know, the happiness I have enjoyed can be made almost into a book.”

Would you dabble in racing any more?

“Not having sponsor is not the only reason I’m not into racing any more. There are other reasons too. As far as I am concerned, it is a matter of pride to have participated in a Formula 3 race and attained even the third position. I consider it a feat in itself.”

Looks like a defeat now and then in matter of story choice? “I am not the only person responsible for the success or flop of a film. Life is full of ups and downs. Success and defeat is not all that makes up life. If anyone decides that these two constitute life, then that person’s life will be an endless round of gambling resulting in loss of peace of mind.”

One must learn to make life nice. Otherwise, it will turn into a knife!

Wow! That’s a super philosophy!

Three tier security for Ajith

Ajith’s Billa is being filmed at A V M studios. To view the shooting and their favorite stars, there is a constant stream of visitors to these studios, as a result of which shooting gets hindered at various levels. To combat this issue, the film units have sought the help of private security agencies who are providing the shooting spot an immaculate security cover. It has also been said that Ajith’s Billa has been provided with three tiers of security.
When a unit source was questioned about this sudden increase of protection, it was revealed that people who come to the sets with expensive cell phones directly record the stars, their costumes, shooting sets and even some sequences which find their way into the web portals. There were even few song sequences which were telecast in a private television channel before the film hit the screens.
This reduces the curiosity which is generally linked to a film and affects its performance too. Hence to protect from such miscreants, the production team has enforced strict security cover for the shooting.
